Man Flown To UMass Hospital After Vintage Car Drives Off Road In Region, Lands In Embankment Authorities are investigating the cause of a Connecticut crash that left a 35-year-old woman dead and another person seriously injured.  The incident happened in Windham County on Monday, Oct. 9 around 8:30 p.m., when a 1967 Triumph GT6 traveling south on Route 169 in Pomfret near the intersection with Harrisville Road ran off the right side of the road and struck a metal beam guardrail, according to state police. Car V. Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Sends 80-Year-Old Woman To Hospital An 80-year-old woman is in the hospital following a hit-and-run collision with a motor vehicle that fled the scene. On Thursday, Feb. 25, at about 11 a.m. police responded to a report of a woman who had been struck by a motor vehicle lying on the ground in the area of 166 South Quinsigamond Ave. in Shrewsbury, police said. The victim was an 80-year-old Shrewsbury woman. She was transported to UMass hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
