28-Year-Old Grad Student Struck, Killed By Car In Region, Police Say Connecticut State Police are asking witnesses to a crash that left a UConn researcher and graduate student dead after he was struck by a car. Tolland County resident Nhuong Nguyen, age 28, was killed around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 in Mansfield while walking in the crosswalk on South Eagleville Road, said the Connecticut State Police. A westbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra struck Nguyen just west of Eastwood Road, state police said. Linda Kosuda-Bigazzi, age 73, the wife of longtime UConn professor Pierluigi Bigazzi, has been charged with larceny as prosecutors continue their investigation into his murder. Covid-19: Police Break Up Large Party Near UConn Campus State Police broke up a large party that was held overnight near the UConn campus in Storrs in violation of COVID-19 pandemic guidelines. Just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, troopers responded to 160 Birch Road in Mansfield for a complaint of a large, loud party. Upon arrival, the troopers witnessed the disturbance and observed numerous college-aged students inside the residence.
