Worcester County resident Steven Foley, age 62, formerly of Northborough, was sentenced to life in prison in Worcester County Court on Tuesday, Sept. 5. It followed his jury conviction for second-degree murder in the 2017 killing of 59-year-old Cynthia Webb. Police Probing 'Unattended Death' At Sterling Police Station The Worcester County District Attorney's Office is investigating an "unattended death" at the Sterling Police Station last week.  "Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Sterling Police continue to investigate the June 23 unattended death at the Sterling Police Department," a spokesperson for the district attorney said. "Authorities are awaiting autopsy results which include toxicology reports." Officials did release any information on the person or if they were in custody.

Driver Rescued From Second I-190 Roll-Over Car Crash This Week Firefighters responded Thursday to the second, serious roll-over car accident on I-190 this week. On Thursday, Oct. 22, at around 6 a.m., Sterling firefighters, as well as Sterling and Massachusetts State police, responded to a report of a flipped car on the highway in Sterling. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a yellow sedan smashed up and tangled in a grove of young trees down a steep embankment. New Brewery Coming to Worcester County This Fall A new brewery is slated to open this fall in Clinton. Sterling Street Brewery, at 175 Sterling St., is owned by friends Brian Mason, of Sterling, and Jesse Tarbell, of Lancaster. The brewery will feature beer styles that include pilsners, porters, and IPAs. The owners signed a lease for the property in November 2019, and have been renovating the space to create a brewery and taproom ever since. The building is the former home of Depot Floor Covering.
