Accidental Blasting Blocks Western Mass Road With Debris: No Time-Frame On Clean-Up, Police Say An accidental blasting incident has left a roadway in northern Connecticut closed for the foreseeable future as authorities work to remove debris.  The blasting incident, which was accidental in nature, happened in Litchfield County on Wednesday afternoon, July 19 in the area of Winsted Road at Dennison Drive in Torrington. Tanker Truck Crash Spills Hazardous Materials In Westborough A tanker truck rolled over Thursday morning, Feb. 23, in Westborough, trapping the driver inside and spilling hazardous materials on the road.  The crash happened at 50 Eli Whitney Street just after 11 a.m. Paramedics evaluated the driver, who declined to go to the hospital for minor injuries, Westborough firefighters said.  Officials didn't say what spilled from the trucks — only classifying it as hazardous — but firefighters said drivers should avoid the area as they have closed the road while it is cleaned up.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27 in Hartford County, Newington Police Chief Stephen Clark said that there were two confirmed fatalities in a four-vehicle crash that happened near the intersection of East Cedar Street and Patricia M.
