'A Quiet, Gentle Soul': Community Mourns Loss Of Princeton Man, 25, After Motorcycle Crash Loved ones of Jake Brisbois, the 25-year-old who was killed in a crash on Monday, June 19, in Lancaster, said he was a stalwart friend, a hard worker, and a caring soul.  Brisbois, of Princeton, was hit by a tractor-trailer on I-190 around 1:30 a.m., police said.  The Wachusett Regional High School graduate worked as a team leader at Walmart, his obituary said.  Jacob was a quiet and gentle soul often being referred to as a “gentle giant” by his family. Inmate Stabs Correction Officer Multiple Times In Lancaster Prison Attack A Massachusetts Correction Officer is recovering after being stabbed multiple times with a "handmade weapon" at a prison in Central Massachusetts this week, according to officials. Staff at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster reported a fight between three inmates around 6 p.m. on Monday, May 22, Deputy Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections Jason Dobson told Daily Voice.  As officers responded to the scene, one inmate struck an officer multiple times the weapon. Special Needs Van T-Boned In Clinton, 7 Sent To Hospital: Fire Department A special needs van was T-boned at an intersection in Clinton on Thursday, Jan. 26, sending several people to an area hospital for treatment, fire officials said.  The crash happened when a work van collided with a Keissling Transit van carrying several adults with special needs and staff members on Brook Street just after 8:30 a.m. to HMEA, authorities said.  The driver of the work van was treated on the scene and released, a Clinton fire captain said. Fatal Crash Under Investigation In Worcester County Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Massachusetts. Troopers responded to a crash on Interstate 190 northbound in the Worcester County town of Lancaster at about 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, Massachusetts State Police reported. Police said the driver of one of the vehicles involved, a 63-year-old woman from Pasadena, California, died before troopers arrived. Cause Of Blaze At Firefighter's Home Determined The cause of a fire at a local firefighter's home has been determined. On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the Massachusetts Fire Marshal’s Office said that officials had discovered the cause of a Feb. 18 house fire at 26 Runaway Brook Road in Lancaster. Lancaster Fire Chief Michael Hanson said the cause was the failure of the woodstove pipe. The fire began while residents Charles Dunnigan and Leila Wendler were out at a store. New Brewery Coming to Worcester County This Fall A new brewery is slated to open this fall in Clinton. Sterling Street Brewery, at 175 Sterling St., is owned by friends Brian Mason, of Sterling, and Jesse Tarbell, of Lancaster. The brewery will feature beer styles that include pilsners, porters, and IPAs. The owners signed a lease for the property in November 2019, and have been renovating the space to create a brewery and taproom ever since. The building is the former home of Depot Floor Covering.
