Police have identified the man who sparked a statewide Amber Alert when he stole a vehicle in Western Massachusetts, on Friday morning, March 29, that had a 3-year-old baby inside.
Vadim Vorobyov, age 52, of Springfield, is charged with kidnapping, child endangerment, and fugitive from justice in Connecticut and is also expected to be charged with kidnapping, child endangerment, and motor vehicle larceny in Massachusetts, State Police said.

A Florida man who sparked an intense manhunt Tuesday, Aug. 29, after police say he shot a man in Franklin County before he ran into the woods has pleaded not guilty to all the charges, authorities said.
Gil Viera, 30, of Sunrise, Florida, is accused of shooting a man near 30 11th St. in the Turners Falls neighborhood known as The Patch just before 1 p.m., the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.

A Western Massachusetts man was charged with manslaughter in a crash that killed a 60-year-old man in Connecticut last year.
Hampden County resident Dominic Grassetti, age 25, of Southwick, turned himself in to police on Monday, Oct. 3, Connecticut State Police reported.
He was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the two-vehicle crash that killed Fernando Lebron, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, on I-91 in Enfield on Nov. 12, 2021, police said.

Police are seeking witnesses to a crash on I-91 that claimed the life of a Connecticut man.
Fairfield County resident Terrence McNichol, age 47, of Bridgeport, was killed around 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, during a crash with another vehicle on I-91 in Hartford County in Rocky Hill, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to the state police, McNichol was driving in the right lane of three when he lost control of his 2013 Nissan Altima and veered to the right striking a 2008 Ford F-350 driven by Arcangel Junior Gonzalez, 29, of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Jose Nanez-Torres, also as known as "J-Money," age 21, of Hartford, was sentenced on Monday, Jan. 10, said Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
