Historic First: Harvard Appoints First Person Of Color As President Harvard University's new president shattered a glass ceiling when she became the first person of color to be selected for the role.  Harvard announced on Thursday, Dec. 15, that Claudine Gay, the dean of the faculty of arts and science since 2018, will serve as the university's 30th president.   She replaces Lawrence S. UConn President Thomas Katsouleas Resigns University of Connecticut President Thomas Katsouleas has submitted his resignation, effective as of next month. Katsouleas, who was selected as president of UConn in February 2019, notified the school’s Board of Trustees that he will resign as president at the end of his current contract, which concludes as of Wednesday, June 30.
