Not Another Milford: Residents Skeptical Of Amazon Distribution Center Plan
Now that Amazon has officially recognized intentions to build a distribution center in Worcester, residents have a lot to say about it. If plans are approved by city officials, the largely empty mall on Neponset Street in Worcester would be torn down apparently in order to build a warehouse for Amazon, according to the Worcester Business Journal. Prior to this, Boston-based owner Finard Properties had proposed turning the structure into a mixed-use building with retail, light manufacturing, and residential spaces. While official word that the warehouse would be used by Amazon has not been made, WBJ noted that building plans are similar to those filed in other communitie…

Plaza Gains A Retailer But Loses A Bookseller
As one large retailer exits Lincoln Plaza, another is slated to come in. Bookseller Barnes & Noble is closing its Lincoln Plaza location in Worcester on Oct. 31, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. Barnes & Noble has been in that location since 2004. While Barnes exits, TJ Maxx is slated to move its Greendale Mall store on Neponset Street to Lincoln Plaza on Lincoln Street. The plaza has lost several large stores in recent years including Staples earlier this month and A.C. Moore in 2019. Hook and Reel, a Cajun seafood restaurant, opened at the plaza in Jan…
