30 Firefighters Quarantined In One City
More than two dozen firefighters from the same department have been put in quarantine after three members tested positive for COVID-19. The positive tests started rolling in on Sunday, Oct. 4, then two more positive cases were confirmed among Worcester firefighters. The quarantine is effecting two stations and 30 firefighters who will quarantine due to contact with their colleagues. Worcester Sticking With Restaurant Limitations Despite State's OK On Expansion
What’s good for Boston isn’t necessarily good for Worcester. On Monday, Sept. 28, Massachusetts restaurants will be allowed to increase the number of people who can sit at one table and use their bars for dining - but not in Worcester. The city has decided to maintain the current limit of six people per table and banning sitting at bars. Outdoor drinking could be here to stay as Worcester city officials consider how to expand options for restauranteurs on a permanent basis. Many communities have loosened their outdoor eating restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic to help accommodate social distancing. Worcester: 240 Complaints Filed Against Businesses Not Meeting

The City of Worcester has received 240 complaints against businesses accused of not following protocols that would help stop the spread of COVID-19. Six of those complaints were made against doctors. Since May 1, the city has tracked complaints against the following types of businesses: 112 Restaurants 10 Salons/barbershops 31 Retailers 11 Residential businesses 16 Autocare shops 11 Gyms 6 Doctors 22 Other industries, including laundry, manufacturing, adult entertainment, and body art.
