Man With Dementia Found Lying In Snow In Russell; K9 Leads Police To His Location An 87-year-old Hampden County man is likely alive today thanks to the efforts of a Massachusetts State Police dog named Orry.  The man, who suffers from dementia, had wandered off from his home in Russell in the area of Blanford Road on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 21. He was missing for more than eight hours on a frighteningly cold day. Morphine-Siphoning Nurse Gets Jail For Stealing Drug From Northborough Dementia Patients: Feds A judge sentenced a 43-year-old Northborough nurse who admitted to siphoning morphine from a dementia patient who she cared for at a nursing home will spend more than four years in prison, federal authorities said.  Gwen Rider pleaded guilty last year to one count of tampering with a consumer product and one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and deception, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Irwin Alleyne, age 86, of East Hartford, was reported missing from his residence on Sunday, Aug. 7 around noon. Alleyne is described as being a Black male, 5-foot-4, 145 pounds, bald, with a small beard, said the East Hartford Police. Missing Saugus Senior With Dementia Found Safe: Police UPDATE: Saugus Police said Thai Tran was located safe. The Saugus Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating a missing senior with dementia who may have taken a cab from his home.  Thai Tran, age 78, was last seen near his home in the area of Eastern Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, police said.  Authorities believe Tran may have travelled to Revere then took a cab to Somerville. A study published in the Lancet Psychiatry journal on Tuesday, April 6 found that 34 percent of COVID-19 survivors received a diagnosis for a neurological or psychological condition within six months of their infection. New Shrewsbury Police Chief Sworn In Shrewsbury has a new police chief: former interim chief Kevin Anderson. Anderson was promoted to the full chief on July 20, according to a town-issued statement. He is a 26-year veteran of the Shrewsbury Police Department and, before taking on the interim role, was Detective Lieutenant, Detective Bureau Commanding Officer.
