Child Found Unresponsive In Water At Beach In Western Mass, Police Say An 8-year-old girl found unresponsive at a Massachusetts beach was saved by CPR performed by bystanders. The incident took place in Berkshire County in Pittsfield around 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 24. Police, firefighters, and EMS responded to the Burbank Park public beach area at Onota Lake for an unresponsive child found in the water, said Lt. John Soules, of the Pittsfield Police Department.  Citizens on scene began administering CPR and responding emergency workers took over rescue measures upon their arrival, Soules said. Officers Save Baby Choking, Gasping For Air In Massachusetts Two police officers in Western Massachusetts are being hailed as heroes after saving a baby who was choking. The incident took place in Springfield on Monday, May 9. Springfield Police officers Christopher Charles and Luis Rodriguez were working a construction detail at the intersection of Bradley and Wilbraham Roads when a vehicle approached the work zone, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
