Grill Fire Guts Home In Western Mass, Injures 2, Leave 6 Homeless Fire investigators say a two-alarm Hampden County blaze on Thursday, Aug. 3, started on a grill on a home's back porch.  The fire began just before 4 p.m. on Wilbraham Street in Palmer as a family was cooking dinner on their outside grill, the Palmer Fire Department said. The blaze quickly got out of control and spread to the home before crews could get there and battle the flames back.  The fire injured two people and displaced a family of six. Fifteen Cars Towed From 'Chain-Reaction' Crash On Mass Pike In Brimfield: Police More than a dozen cars and were involved in a "chain-reaction" crash that injured multiple people on the Mass Pike in Brimfield this week, authorities said.  State Troopers responded to the crash involving multiple tractor-trailers and cars on I-90 East in Brimfield around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, Massachusetts State Police report.  About 15 vehicles towed from the scene and all passengers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Woman With A 'Big Heart' ID'd As Victim Of Fatal Car Crash In Sturbridge Authorities have identified a 62-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car in central Massachusetts as Debra Lavallee of Brimfield.  Lavallee was killed in a crash that happened in the area of 709 Main Street in Sturbridge around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, according to Sturbridge Police. Initial investigation revealed that a car was going east on Main Street when it veered into the breakdown lane and hit Lavallee, police said. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene. Holly Piirainen, 10, of Grafton, was killed in the summer fo 1993. She was kidnapped from Sturbridge on Aug. 5 while visiting her grandparents.
