'Horrific Living Conditions': 3 Kids Removed From Western Mass Home Deemed 'Uninhabitable'
Three children were taken from a Hampden County apartment last week after investigators searched it on a drugs warrant and found the living conditions "horrific," Holyoke police said. A task force of several area agencies raided the home at 149 Essex Street to search for drugs, but what they found was much worse. Norovirus Possible Catalyst Behind Closure Of Central Mass Elementary School
An elementary school in northern Massachusetts was closed after numerous students came down with an unknown stomach illness, officials said. Florence Roche Elementary School in Groton was closed after 204 students contracted the illness, reports said. School officials believe the illness was caused by a virus.
