Shrewsbury Re-opens One Pond, Closes Another While Shrewsbury’s Dean Park Pond has reopened, the Rotary Park Pond is reaming closed. Both ponds had been closed to visitors due to high levels of bacteria in the water. Dean Park Pond, off Main Street, had been closed for weeks before town officials reopened it on Thursday, Aug. 13. Fishing can now resume on the pond, but swimming or wading ist still not allowed Rotary Park Pond, off Old Mill Pond Road, was closed on Thursday, Aug. 13 as laboratory testing showed high levels of E. Coli in the water. The water samples were taken from Mill Pond.
