Tiffany Flynn, 39, of Brookfield, is charged with carjacking, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a person over 60, and cruelty to animals, Worcester police said. Kyle Bailey, of Worcester, is charged with receiving stolen property worth more than $1,200.

A 67-year-old man was sitting in his Toyota SUV with his dog in the backseat on Saturday, March 18, when a woman, later identified as Flynn, got into the car and started to punch him in the face with her cell phone, police said. After a struggle, she pushed the man out of the vehicle before speeding off with the dog still inside.

She let the animal out later, and someone found it on Vernon Street.

The man was treated for wounds on his face, police said. The dog was unhurt.

On Monday, police patrolling near Eastern Avenue received an alert from the security system LoJack that said a stolen vehicle was in the area.

Police scoured the area until they found the SUV parked with Flynn and Bailey asleep inside, authorities said.
