The man was struck by a vehicle traveling on Route 202 near 150 Daniel Shays Highway just before 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office reports.
The driver, a 20-year-old Athol resident, and passenger got out of the car to help the victim. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries, the DA's Office said.
The crash is under investigation.
