Teen Shooting Arrest: 15-Year-Old Charged In Western Mass Attack Police in Hampden County have charged a 15-year-old boy with shooting an 18-year-old and putting him in the hospital with critical injuries on Monday, May 22.  Springfield police responded to a Shotspotter activation near the intersection of Acorn and Sycamore streets just before 3:30 p.m. Officers did not find a victim, but they noted three cars and two homes had bullet holes in them.  Soon after, an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound was dropped off at Mercy Medical Center, where he was later taken to Baystate Medical Center for trauma treatment, authorities said.
