After weathering the winter storm of new COVID-19 infections, some Americans who never got vaccinated against the virus are questioning whether they can relax or should be worried. Less than three weeks after the first case of the highly transmissible Omicron COVID-19 variant was identified in the United States, the first death in the nation connected to the strain has been confirmed in the Houston, Texas area.
