Rollaway Risk Prompts Recall Of Over 230K Ford Explorers Ford is recalling 238,000 of one of its best-selling SUVs over concerns that a defect could increase the chance of more crashes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.   The recall is for 2020-2022 Ford Explorers. A rear axle mounting bolt is at risk of breaking and could cause the driveshaft to disconnect, the NHTSA said. The incident took place in Hartford around 11 p.m., Saturday, April 22 in the area of Farmington Avenue at Gillette Street. According to Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert, the victim identified as Anthony Williams, age 30, of Hartford, was found seriously injured on a sidewalk just off the roadway and had apparently been struck by a vehicle. Driver Dies After Rollover Crash In Western Mass A woman has died following a rollover car crash in the region. The 31-year-old woman, who has not been identified, died following the Western Massachusetts crash in West Springfield, on Thursday, Sept. 23. Hampden District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Jim Leydon, said the crash took place on Memorial Avenue when the driver of an SUV struck another vehicle. After hitting the vehicle, the woman lost control of the SUV and hit a guiderail, causing it to roll over and catch fire, he said. Police said speeding is being considered as a factor in the crash.
