Ludlow Blaze That Injured 2 Blamed On Smoking Near Oxygen Tank: Fire Marshal A house fire that injured two people in Ludlow over the weekend started when someone smoked near an oxygen tank, authorities said.  The blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, on Evergreen Circle. Firefighters found smoke billowing out of the first floor of the two-story home, officials said. ID Released For Man Killed In Western Massachusetts Fire Investigators in Massachusetts have released the name of a 58-year-old man who was killed in a house fire. John Hebert was killed during the fire in Hampshire County, in Town of Ware, that broke out in his basement on Friday, March 19, officials said, noting that the fire at the single-family Palmer Road home was accidental. Fire crews responded to the residence shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and were able to quickly knock down the flames.
