A 17-year-old is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase across Springfield early Thursday morning, July 13, in a stolen car, authorities said. The teen, whose name and charges were not released because of his age, allegedly smashed the window of a Hyundai and cracked open the steering column to hotwire the vehicle, Springfield police said. Police Issue Alert For Missing 15-Year-Old Western Mass Girl
Law enforcement agencies in Western Massachusetts continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating a runaway teenager who has been missing for months. The Chicopee Police Department issued the alert for Jeziah Adorno, who ran away from home in April and was last seen near Pearl Street in Springfield. Police described Adorno as being approximately 5-foot-2, weighing 135 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. A monthlong investigation into drug sales in Western Massachusetts led to the arrest of five suspects who are facing a variety of drug and breaking and entering charges, police said. Over the past month, members of the Springfield Police Department Metro Unit and Narcotics Unit have been investigating an apartment on the 0-100 block of Pearl Street for the distribution of narcotics. Man Facing Charges For Involvement In Western Mass Shooting
A Western Mass man is facing numerous charges for his alleged involvement in a shooting that left one person seriously injured. Edgar Gomez-Diaz, age 36, of Springfield, was arrested on Tuesday, May 4, after an officer heard gunshots in the area of Spring and Pearl Streets and located a man who was shot on Spring Street around 12:20 p.m., said Springfield Police Spokesman Ryan Walsh.
