Person, Dog Rescued From River In Western Mass A person and their dog were rescued from a river in Western Massachusetts after being swept away in the current. It happened at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 23 in Hampshire County. Bicyclist Hospitalized After Western Mass Crash A 71-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized in Western Massachusetts this week after being struck by a car while crossing the street, police said. First responders from the Northampton Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 221 Pine St. at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, June 28, where there was a report of a bicyclist who had been struck by a car.
