Police Across Massachusetts Pay Respects To Police Dog Killed In Standoff
A Massachusetts State Police K9 officer named Frankie died on Tuesday night, July 26, after a 38-year-old suspect shot him during a standoff in Fitchburg earlier that day. The 11-year-old Belgian malinois is the first State Police dog to die in the line of duty, officials said.
