Fatal Shooting Victim ID'd In Springfield; Police Searching For Killer Police released the name of the 29-year-old man gunned down Sunday, Aug. 6, in Springfield's South end.  Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia was shot at 7:45 p.m. on Hancock Street near the intersection of Union Street, Springfield police said.  Paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds.  Police urge anyone with information on the shooter or who may have witnessed anything related to the killing to contact detectives at 413-787-6355.

Teen Seriously Injured In Moped, Car Crash In Springfield; Driver Also Wounded A 17-year-old girl was rushed to a Hampden County hospital Thursday afternoon, June 22, after her moped collided with a car, authorities said. Police have not said who was at fault. The crash happened in the area of Hancock and Florence Streets just before 3:30 p.m., Springfield police said. When officers arrived, they found the girl with serious injuries.  Paramedics rushed her to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. Body Recovered From River In Western Massachusetts Body Recovered From River In Western Massachusetts
Body Recovered From River In Western Massachusetts A man's body has been recovered from a river in Western Massachusetts.  According to Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department, the body was found around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, when officers were called to the 500 block of Hancock Street for a report of a body in the Mill River. Members of the Springfield Fire department recovered the body. Walsh said there were no indications of suspicious activity, and the incident is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.  This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
