A 30-year-old man wanted on weapons charges was arrested this week while riding around one Western Massachusetts city with drugs in his possession, authorities said. Tre Watson, of Springfield, already had active warrants for firearms charges out of Hampden Superior Court when police tracked him down, the department reports. Four Nabbed With Loaded Firearms Inside Western Mass Convenience Store
Four men have been arrested for allegedly having loaded guns inside a convenience store in Western Massachusetts. The four men were arrested in Hampden County around 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, when detectives from the Springfield Police received information that the men were in possession of firearms and were conducting surveillance when they entered the store. A man who was arrested on weapons offenses in Western Massachusetts earlier this year is facing new charges after becoming combative with officers attempting to interview him after he was caught driving with a friend riding on the hood of a car. Former Western Mass Cop Convicted In Child Sex Abuse Case
A former Western Mass cop has been sentenced to two to three years in prison after being found guilty of several counts in connection with a child sex abuse case, Hampden County resident Daniel Cintron, age 31, of Monson, a former Springfield police officer, had been found guilty in a jury-waived trial in Hampden Superior Court on charges of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and intimidation of a witness.
