Child, 3 Adults Hospitalized After Weekend Crash In Western Mass: Police Four people were sent to the hospital on Sunday, March 19, following a head-on collision in Springfield, including a child, officials said.  The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. when two cars collided near 194 Island Pond Road, the Springfield Fire Department said in a tweet. The driver of one vehicle and the driver, a female passenger, and a child in the backseat were all taken to the Bay State Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
