Thankfully, Western Massachusetts is inundated with gorgeous vineyards and quintessential New England views along with some of the best locally-crafted wine in the region. 

To help plan your next tasting, here are some of the highest-rated wineries in Western Mass based on traveler reviews. 

Furnace Brook Winery at Hilltop Orchards (Richmond) 

Furnace Brook Winery in the Berkshires has a 4.5 average rating on Trip Advisor and Yelp

Known for its rolling apple orchards and apple wine, the 187-acre working farm is open daily for wine and cider tastings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Guests can also take advantage of the winery's May deals and scavenger hunt that comes with a free bottle of wine and two complimentary tastings. 

Black Birch Vineyard (Hatfield)

Award-winning wine and breathtaking farmland come together at Black Birch Vineyard, which has a 4.5 average rating on Trip Advisor and Yelp.

The Hampshire County vineyard covers 12 acres and offers tastings, tours, and private events. 

Black Birch also hosts several events every month, including Doggy & Me photos, a wine social club, and a summer music series. 

Balderdash Cellars (Richmond) 

Balderdash Cellars, also in the Berks, has a 5-star rating on Trip Advisor and Yelp

The boutique winery offers a rotating weekend menu with live entertainment and a tasting room from 12-5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. 

Guests can also bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages and can request a private bartender for a group of 25 or more. 

Cameron's Winery (Northfield)

Cameron's Winery, which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary in November 2022, has a 5-star rating on Trip Advisor and a 4-star rating on Yelp.

The Franklin County vineyard boasts a "small unique batches of wine" across nine different families, their website reads. 

Guests can bring their own glass for Cameron's indoor and outdoor tastings or build a charcuterie board to pair perfectly with their wine selection.

Les Trois Emme Winery (New Marlborough) 

“Les Trois Emme” means “The Three Ms” and the Berkshire County winery is named after the owner's first three granddaughters, Megan, Madison, and Mary Katherine. 

Located just minutes from several local attractions, Les Trois Emma has a 4.5 rating on Trip Advisor. The winery's tasting room is open 12-5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
