A three-month investigation concluded this week with six arrests and more than 120 criminal charges tied to multiple store break-ins in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, authorities announced. Drunk Driver Crashed Into 2 Houses, Displacing Family In Hopkinton: Police
A drunk driver is facing multiple charges after police say he hit two homes with his van in Hopkinton, leaving one uninhabitable, police said. Stephen Murphy, 52, of Hopkinton, hit two homes with his van at 75 and 77 Grove St. before driving away from the area shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4. A Quincy man thought he could escape police in South Boston, but he didn't make it far after crashing into the side of a home, authorities said. Cedric Fortune, 21, of Quincy, is facing several felonies following the Thursday night, Dec. 21, chase and crash, Massachusetts State Police said. A company is recalling 663,500 washing machines after receiving reports of the machines overheating and causing fires. Samsung issued the recall of "Top-Load Washing Machines" on Thursday, Dec. 22, because the products could short-circuit and overheat. The company said it has received 51 reports of washers smoking, melting, overheating, or catching fire. Two Dozen Gravestones Damaged At Cemetery In Greater Boston, Police Say
Around two dozen gravestones were damaged at a Massachusetts cemetery over the weekend, authorities said. Cambridge Police said the gravestones were "pushed over and damaged" after they responded to North Cambridge Cemetry on Rindge Avenue around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. A resident who was visiting their family member's grave noticed a headstone was loose and notified police, Universal Hub reports.
