Stephen Murphy, 52, of Hopkinton, hit two homes with his van at 75 and 77 Grove St. before driving away from the area shortly before 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4. Officers stopped the car driven by Murphy and arrested him shortly after, police said. First responders arrived at the two homes to find one of them with significant damage to a load-bearing wall. More Than 660K Washing Machines Recalled Due To Fire Hazard A company is recalling 663,500 washing machines after receiving reports of the machines overheating and causing fires.  Samsung issued the recall of "Top-Load Washing Machines" on Thursday, Dec. 22, because the products could short-circuit and overheat. The company said it has received 51 reports of washers smoking, melting, overheating, or catching fire. Two Dozen Gravestones Damaged At Cemetery In Greater Boston, Police Say Around two dozen gravestones were damaged at a Massachusetts cemetery over the weekend, authorities said. Cambridge Police said the gravestones were "pushed over and damaged" after they responded to North Cambridge Cemetry on Rindge Avenue around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.  A resident who was visiting their family member's grave noticed a headstone was loose and notified police, Universal Hub reports.   The estimated property damage was said to be more than $12,000, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
