Standoff With Armed Man Inside Middlesex Co. Home Ends Peacefully: Police A police negotiator was able to talk a man who had barricaded himself inside a Middlesex County apartment Sunday afternoon, Sept. 10, out of the home without bloodshed, authorities said.  Officers were called to 7 Elm Court in Maynard just before 12:30 p.m. because a man was destroying things with a hatchet, Maynard police said. Other people inside the home were able to get out without getting hurt.  The man, whose name has not been released, barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come outside. Burglars Bungle Concord ATM Robbery, But Escape In High-Speed Getaway: Police A trio of burglars attempted to steal an ATM earlier this week but succeeded only in making a mess, authorities said. Investigators released photos from the crime scene and of the would-be thieves in the hopes of making a quick capture.  Concord police received an alarm just after 3:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14., from a Citizens Bank at 1134 Main Street, authorities said.
