Techie Eastern Mass Man Wins $1 Million, Plans To Buy Smart Watch A lottery drawing that featured a $1 billion jackpot needed one Middlesex County man a $1 million check.  Brendan Stewart, of Waltham, won $1 million in a Powerball drawing on Wednesday, July 19, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The first five numbers on Stewart's ticket, purchased at Global Montello/Gulf at 821 Main Street in Waltham, matched the digits chosen in the drawing. $1M Lottery Win: Western Mass Woman Used NASCAR Numbers, Convenience Store To Pick Numbers Three people from Massachusetts won $1 million each in the $1 billion Powerball drawing on Friday, July 21. Two of those winners said they had help picking their numbers.  Rae Ann Wentworth-Cadieux, of Hadley, chose her numbers based on a convenience store chain 7-11 and race cars, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.  The winning numbers were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, with the Powerball number 24.  Wentworth-Cadieux got all the numbers but missed the Powerball.
