Jasmine Velasquez was busted after officers heard a crying dog, and a witness approached them to say they saw a woman beating the animal near 131 Tremont Street shortly after 8:30 p.m., Boston police said. Police said they saw the woman kicking her dog as they came up to her. Woodchuck Found At Ice Cream Shop Sparks Rabies Concerns In Mass Community A small, furry mammal that is considered a high-risk animal for rabies transmission is causing a town's police department and Board of Health to attempt to locate a person who handled one such critter.  An unknown person is said to have picked up a woodchuck, found at John George Ice Cream in Dartmouth around 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, and placed it in a cardboard box, according to Christopher Michaud, Director of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 3-Month-Old Puppy Killed In Gloucester Crash, Police Looking For Driver Police are hunting for a driver that ran over and killed a 3-month-old mini golden doodle puppy on Saturday in Gloucester and kept driving.  The incident happened near the intersection of Sayward Street and Fleming Drive at 11 a.m., police said in a Facebook post asking for information.
