Officer Roselyn LaCroix was arrested for destruction of personal property and threats following an incident with a family member around 2:41 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, Boston Police report.
Officers responded to a Dorchester home where a victim told them that she was woken up by LaCroix breaking furniture, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office reports.
The victim said that LaCroix then went upstairs, broke down their bedroom door and grabbed them by the face and said, “I’m going to burn this house down with you in it.”
“Anyone who commits a crime, regardless of their job or position, will be held accountable for their actions by our office," DA Kevin Hayden said. "Public safety officials have an extra responsibility to act within the boundaries of the law."
LaCroix, who has been with the department since 2006, was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, police said.
Judge Joseph Griffin set bail at $500 and issued a no-abuse of victim order against LaCroix, the DA's Office added. LaCroix will return to court for a pre-trial hearing on Nov. 25.
