A 70-year-old died while walking near Wellesley College on Wednesday morning, Dec. 27. Silas Logan was found unresponsive by officers who arrived at a slightly wooded area on Central Street near Weston Road shortly after 9 a.m., the Essex District Attorney’s Office told MassLive. A person who reported the incident was performing CPR when officers responded to the scene and took over lifesaving measures, Wellesley police said. Police have identified the person who was found stabbed outside of Kowloon Restuarant in Saugus on Saturday night, Dec. 2, as a 42-year-old Milton man. Patrick Kenney Jr. was found with a knife wound outside of the 948 Broadway restaurant just after 9 p.m., the Essex District Attorney's Office said. Update: ID Released For Ipswich Man Who Drowned At Yacht Club
Despite first responders' efforts to revive him, a man died in the water off of an Essex County island, officials say. Richard P. Collins, a 72-year-old man from the Great Neck area of Ipswich, drowned on Wednesday, July 26 in the area of the Ipswich Bay Yacht Club's mooring area, located at 124 N. Ridge Road, according to the Ipswich Police Department. Police have renewed their call for information on the death of a teenage girl whose body was found in Essex County 50 years ago this week. Judith (Merenda) Cadorette, age 19, was found in Andover near the ramp from Route 93 South to Route 133 West on July 6, 1973, Massachusetts State police said. The family of a 5-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer as she crossed a street in Andover on Tuesday, May 9, said losing her has left an "impossible void" to fill in their lives. A 67-year-old was convicted on Wednesday, March 15, of the beating death of another in a Lawrence YMCA rooming house in 2017. Martin Rodriguez was found guilty of first-degree murder following a weeklong trial for the killing of 53-year-old Jose Burgos, the Essex District Attorney's Office announced.
