Over $1M Scheme: Everett Mechanics Faked Crashes, Car Damage To Cheat Insurance Agents, DA Says Six people, including two fugitives, have been charged with defrauding more than $1 million from insurance companies by submitting false claims through their Massachusetts auto-body shop business, officials announced.  The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office announced the indictment of the six defendants on Monday, Feb. 26.  According to the DA's Office, a two-year investigation revealed that Everett-based FT Auto or Riviera Auto had been at the center of a "wide-ranging scheme" to defraud several insurance carriers.  As part of the scheme, the defendants would orche…
