Teddy Higgins, age 41, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Oligodendroglioma on Tuesday, Jan. 3, a GoFundMe campaign reads. About three percent of brain tumors are oligodendrogliomas and can only be fought with treatment instead of surgery.
The diagnosis means Higgins will have to undergo four weeks of daily radiation followed by six weeks of "intense" chemotherapy, the campaign reads. This predicament comes at an extremely unfortunate time in his family's life.
"Teddy will be out of work during this hard time and Sadie lost her job just days before the diagnosis came in," according to the GoFundMe.
"Furthermore, Teddy just finished re-building their dream home throughout the pandemic, and they moved in just three months before the diagnosis," it continues. "Now, their dream home will need to be re-fitted to ensure Teddy is comfortable and able to fight this battle with all of his energy."
The neighbor who created the fundraising campaign is now asking people to give Higgins and his family the kind of love and support that Higgins has have given them "countless times."
