Study Finds 10 Safest Places To Drive In Mass
Icy roads make driving hard during winter, but a new study revealed the safest places to drive in Mass, with Marblehead taking the top spot. The study by Boston-based Jason Stone Injury Lawyers looked at 218 locations from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and found places that had at least 500 crashes between 2019 and 2023. Marblehead landed in first place with 1,117 crashes with only one being fatal. Williamstown took the second spot with 603 crashes and 83 of them having non-fatal injuries. Credit card skimming devices used to steal personal information were placed at Market Basket stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, police warned shoppers. The skimmers were found at Market Baskets in Haverhill, Somerville, and Reading in Massachusetts, and Nashua and Concord in New Hampshire, according to Boston 25 News. Western Mass Man With Several Arrest Warrants Caught Driving Stolen Vehicle: Police
A 37-year-old man from Western Massachusetts with several arrest warrants was tracked down while driving a stolen vehicle in the Greater Boston area last week, authorities said. Police saw a gray Honda CRV speeding south down Main Street in Reading around 7:12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, Police Chief David J. Clark reports. Officers tried stopping the vehicle and followed the driver, later identified as Anthony Pavone, of Agawam, for more than two miles before it stopped on High Street. 66 Residents Evacuated Due To Burst Pipe At Greater Boston Area Senior Living Facility
66 residents needed to be evacuated after a burst pipe at a senior living facility in Reading, authorities said. Police and fire departments responded to a report of a pipe burst at The Residence at Pear Street, located at 75 Pearl Street, around 11:53 a.m. on Monday, June 27, both departments said in a release. While no injuries were reported, power was cut to the building and residents were said to still being evacuated as of 5:30 p.m., the release said.
