$1M Lottery Jackpot: Springfield Man Has Plans For His Big Win A Springfield man who won $1 million in the state lottery said he already knows the first thing he will buy with the money.  Kenneth Bernard won the six-figure prize playing the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” $10 scratch-off game.  He chose to take the lump sum of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity.  Bernard said he plans to buy a new car with the money. He didn't specify what kind.  He bought the ticket at Pride Station & Store at 13 N. Main St. in East Longmeadow. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

$1M Lottery Win: Hadley Woman Used Race Cars, Convenience Store To Pick Numbers Three people from Massachusetts won $1 million each in the $1 billion Powerball drawing on Friday, July 21. Two of those winners said they had help picking their numbers.  Rae Ann Wentworth-Cadieux, of Hadley, chose her numbers based on a convenience store chain 7-11 and race cars, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.  The winning numbers were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, with the Powerball number 24.  Wentworth-Cadieux got all the numbers but missed the Powerball.
