Troopers, Officers, Including K9, Take Fugitive into Custody In Region
A combined effort by Connecticut State Police troopers, one of their K9 officers, and members of a local police department led to the capture of a wanted fugitive. On Saturday, Aug. 19 at about 10:15 p.m. in Litchfield County, an officer was patrolling in the area of Main Street in New Hartford when he observed a vehicle drive behind a commercial building. Woman Killed In Head-On Crash In Region
Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash on a busy Connecticut roadway. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Litchfield County on Route 202 in New Hartford. A 2016 Ryder Truck was traveling eastbound and a 2004 Honda Odyssey EX was traveling westbound when, for an unknown reason, the Odyssey crossed the double-yellow line in the roadway and struck the Ryder Truck head-on, Connecticut State Police said. Firefighter Critical After Collapsing During Litchfield County Fire
A Connecticut firefighter is in critical condition following a fire that broke out at a historic building that also injured two others. The three-alarm fire started in Litchfield County, in the Town of New Hartford, around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, on the third floor and the roof of the building at 4 Bridge St., Jon Barbagallo, public information officer for Norfolk said.
