Police treated the situation seriously, but after a sweep of the building, officers found nothing. School activities returned to normal.

The hoax call comes a day after a mass shooting in Tennessee killed three young students and three administrators.

Superintendent of Northborough and Southborough Schools Gregory Martineau sent a message to parents to let them know their children were safe. He also praised the quick work of police.

Other schools across Massachusetts received similar hoax calls on Tuesday.
