Keith Mackie, of Becket, is the first $1 million prize winner in the lottery's new “50X Cash” instant ticket game, the lottery reports.  Mackie was inclined to buy a scratch ticket after his son saw the "New" sticker displayed on the "50X Cash" game while stopping at a gas station.  Mackie bought two tickets, one of which was the big winner. He decided to receive a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).  Mackie plans to use his winnings to p…

Consumer willingness to wait for orders at restaurants, drive-thrus, and curbside pickup has dropped from 10 minutes just six months ago to six minutes in January, according to "The State of What Feeds Us III," a survey by business technology solutions firm Bluedot. Customers were also fairly intolerant of long lines with 77 percent of study respondents saying they would leave an eatery if they could see a lot of people waiting. …

Covid-19: Weekly Incident Rates Jump Up 25 Percent Or More - See How Your County Did COVID-19 incident rates shot up across Central and Western Massachusetts counties by 25 percent to 50 percent when compared to last week, according to new county-level data.
