Covid-19: Here's When To Expect Second Stimulus Check To Arrive Relief is on the way for Americans financially strapped during the COVID-19 crisis. Congressional leaders unveiled on Sunday, Dec. 20 an approximately $900 billion stimulus deal that will provide Americans that qualify direct payments of $600 to help offset the hardships caused during the pandemic. The $600 is half of what was directed during the first round of stimulus checks earlier this year. The nostalgic sweets shop on North Elm Street in Westfield had its last day on Sunday, Sept. 20, according to the company’s Facebook. The owners did not give a reason for closing and in late July were looking to make a hire. Elm Street, Westfield's downtown strip, has lost few if any, businesses due to COVID-19. Coworking Office Space Is Being Developed Near The Holyoke Mall A large, co-working, shared office space is coming to Holyoke over by the mall. Venture X is opening a 16,000 square-foot workspace at 98 Lower Westfield Road. Developers expect the offices will be ready for occupation in early 2021. Venture X offers a business casual environment for professionals who wouldn’t normally have workspace outside their homes. Many of the company’s clients are freelancers, remote workers, startups, nonprofits, and small businesses, Venture X reports. Founded by Holyoke native Ned Barowsky, Venture X has coworking locations across the U.S. and Canada.

In an effort to restore the state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund amid COVID-19’s drain on the economy, a tax increase of about $300 per employee is set to start in April, according to the Boston Business Journal.
