The young parents from New York who were killed in a horrific crash while visiting family in Connecticut on Thanksgiving Day both worked as attorneys. The single-vehicle crash happened in Hartford County just after 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23 near the Bristol/Farmington town line on Stevens Street in Bristol. Woman Sentenced For Burglarizing Homes In Three Counties While Families Were At Funerals
A 30-year-old woman who targeted grieving families in the Hudson Valley will spend more than a decade behind bars after being found guilty of burglarizing multiple homes in the region. In October, Bronx resident Latonia Stewart was found guilty of six counts of burglary and criminal possession of stolen property following a weeklong trial for a rash of New York and Connecticut burglaries in Westchester, Fairfield, and Putnam counties between the winter of 2017 and spring 2018. Accused killer and New York native Robert Durst took the witness stand this week to defend himself against allegations that he killed his best friend Susan Berman in 2000 in an effort to cover up his wife's disappearance. Nationally Known CT Restaurant Owner Sentenced For Not Paying Taxes
A nationally known celebrity chef known as “Lord of the Pies” who owns restaurants in Westchester and Fairfield counties will spend time behind bars after admitting to not paying taxes. Bruno DiFabio, age 51, of Ridgefield, was sentenced on Thursday, May 6 to 30 days in prison, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to a federal tax offense in 2018. Specifically, DiFabio pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to file false income tax returns and payroll tax returns.
