Second Moose Killed In Vehicle Crash In Region A second moose has been hit and killed in Connecticut by a vehicle on the same day. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) says the moose was killed in Hartford County around 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, in Hartland on Route 179. No injuries were reported in the crash. The moose was an approximately 550-pound male and was estimated to be 1 to 2 years old, DEEP said. Three Hospitalized After Moose Struck, Killed By Car In Litchfield County Three people were hospitalized after a car struck and killed a pregnant moose in Connecticut. The incident happened at around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, May 1 in Litchfield County, on Route 272 in the Town of Goshen near the Town of Norfolk. The car, a 2011 Subaru Legacy, was driven by a 38-year-old woman from Torrington, Connecticut State Police said.
