Police in Western Massachusetts are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run earlier this week. The West Springfield Police Department released photos from the scene of a hit-and-run crash that took place at approximately 8:52 a.m. on Monday, June 14 at the intersection of East Elm Street and Route 5. According to police, the driver of the red sedan pictured above struck a white Ford Ranger and proceeded to flee the area. Wasn't Me: Men Blame Each Other During Arrests Two men apparently opted not to use their right to remain silent and started blaming each other during a recent arrest. On Friday, Oct. 23, police allegedly witnessed multiple drug deals in the East Elm Street, Riverdale Street area of West Springfield. As a result, Matthew Lecca, of West Springfield, and Shawn Barron, of Agawam, were arrested on individual charges of: - Trafficking in cocaine (100-200 grams), - Possession to distribute cocaine, - Possession to distribute heroin, - and Conspiracy to violate drug laws, police said.
