Head-On Crash: 2 Adults Killed, Pair Of Children Survive Tolland County A woman crossed double-yellow lines while driving around a bend and crashed headfirst into another vehicle, killing both herself and the other driver, police say.  In Tolland County, 66-year-old Amanda Josephine Bowen, of Coventry, was heading northbound on Merrow Road in the town of Tolland when she drove into the other lane of traffic and into a Subaru Legacy Outback, according to the Connecticut State Police.  The driver of the Subaru, 64-year-old Bryan Flint of the town of Ellington in Tolland County, suffered fatal injuries. Teacher From Region Charged With Having 'Inappropriate Relationship' With Student A Connecticut high school teacher is behind bars after admitting he had an "inappropriate relationship" with a student almost 10 years ago. Tolland County resident Kris Coffey, age 43, of Coventry, was charged on Friday, April 7 following a lengthy investigation by the Connecticut State Police. The investigation stemmed from an anonymous tip to the Department of Children and Family in early February, state police said. Little League Administrator, MA Native Dies: 'Would Drop What He Was Doing To Help' A Massachusetts native who was heavily involved in the Connecticut State Little League organization has died at the age of 49.  Tolland County resident Everett Demers of Coventry died on Friday, Feb. 17 at the age of 49, according to his obituary.  Born in Worcester in 1974, Demers spent much of his childhood in Daytona Beach, Florida before coming back to New England in his late twenties where he worked for Abel Womack as a forklift manager and customer service manager.  After meeting his wife, Julie, in 2011 and marrying her in 2014, he then relocated to Coventry. Barricaded Subject Surrenders After Hours-Long Standoff At Home In Region A 38-year-old man was arrested following a standoff with police that lasted nine hours in a Connecticut neighborhood.  Troopers in Tolland County responded to a home on South Street in the town of Coventry to serve arrest warrants on Jared Anderson at about 7:15 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, according to Connecticut State Police. The whopper of a fish was snagged by Tolland County resident Ben Tomkunas who shattered the former record of 12.75 pounds, said the Connecticut Fish and Wildlife Department.
