A 2-year-old boy who died after falling from a third-floor window is one of five children who were allegedly living in "deplorable and uninhabitable" conditions at a Connecticut residence. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, July 22 at 1091 Capitol Ave., in Hartford. According to Lt. School Staffers In Region Accused Of Failing To Report Abuse Employees of a Connecticut school have been arrested on charges of failure to report abuse by a teacher. The incident, which included the arrest of the alleged abuser in January, took place in Litchfield County at the Plymouth Center School in Plymouth. Sherri Turner, age 59, of Farmington, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 23, and Melissa Morelli, age 45, of Plymouth, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 24.  Both were charged with failure to report abuse, neglect, or injury of a child or imminent risk of serious harm to a child, according to the Plymouth Police Department.  Plymouth Pu…

Teacher In Region Accused Of Leaving Kids Home Alone While She Traveled A Connecticut school teacher has been arrested for allegedly leaving two children home alone while she traveled out of the state. Litchfield County resident Kerry Lyn Caviasca, age 36, of Watertown, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 15, for leaving two children alone for two days and nights, said Detective Mark Conway, of the Watertown Police. According to Conway, the children are ages 9 and 11. She was charged with the risk of injury to a minor and released on a $5,000 bond. How Long Is Too Long? Mom Arrested For Leaving Kids In Car While Shopping A West Haven mother was arrested at the Milford Costco for leaving her two young children in the car while she shopped. Antonia Hernandez, 39, of West Haven, was arrested on July 31 at around 3 p.m. at the Boston Post Road Costco, police said. She is being charged with two counts of leaving a child under 12 years old unsupervised, police said. Police were called to the store parking lot for a report of two juveniles left unattended in a vehicle.
