Update: Car Crashes Into Alewife Garage, Stopping Regular Service For A Week .A driver intentionally crashed into a 10,000 pound concrete barrier in the top floor of the Alewife parking garage, the barrier onto the station below, according to a MBTA press conference.  The car crashed into the 2,400 car parking garage on Saturday, Feb. 4, leading to an overnight cleanup of the debris and barrier, according to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Shuttle buses are providing alternate service for the rest of the week while the station remains closed. Lowell Man Shot, Killed His Wife On Christmas Before Killing Himself: DA A 60-year-old Lowell man killed his wife and then himself on Christmas, authorities confirmed on Tuesday, Dec. 27.  Jose Santiago, 60, is believed to have shot his wife, Rosa Santiago, 55, at their home on Beacon Street just after 1:30 p.m., the Middlesex District Attorney said.  The Chief Medical Examiner performed autopsies on both bodies and determined how and the order in which they died.  Lowell police and the District Attorney's Office are investigating the case.

55-Year-Old Turners Falls Man Guilty Of Child Rape Gets Up To 14 Years In Prison: DA Jeffrey Fleury of Turners Falls, who was found guilty of raping a child for years, will spend at least 12 years in prison, authorities said.  A judge ruled this week that Fleury will serve between 12 to 14 years behind bars after the jury returned its guilty verdict last month, Franklin County court records show. Though, that was much less than what the prosecutor had requested.
