Crisis negotiators along with local police and SWAT officers successfully de-escalated a situation at a Stoneham home this week, according to officials. The Town sent out an alert about police activity in the area north of Redstone near Main and North Streets around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12. Videos posted to social media captured multiple police cars and SWAT vehicles outside a residence in that area. An armed man shouted threats to a resident who was inside his home, leading to an hours-long standoff that ended with a single gunshot, officials say. In Bristol County, a man was arrested for holding a handgun and making threats to an individual from outside the victim's duplex on Pratt Street on Wednesday, Feb. 15, according to the Taunton Police Department. Suspect In Custody After Hostage Situation In Central Mass City (

A suspect is in custody after authorities responded to an active hostage situation where a person barricaded themselves inside of a home in Worcester, authorities said. Officers were serving an arrest warrant for Edward Kloucek at his home at 5 East Kendall Street around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, Worcester Police said.
