Shell To Close 1,000 Gas Stations: Here's Why, Company Says
One of the nation's major oil companies says it will close 1,000 gas stations. Shell made the announcement in its 2024 Energy Transition Strategy report, saying the measure is “in response to customer needs” and aimed at reallocating those resources towards EV charging stations. An investigation has been launched in Montgomery County after a shooting at an area Shell station, officials say. The Montgomery County Department of Police said that there was a shooting at the Shell gas station in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue on Thursday, Dec. 8 in Silver Spring. Police reported the shooting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, at least one person was shot, and possibly sustained critical injuries. Serial Burglar Charged With 33 Counts Of Burglary After String Of Robberies In Maryland
A serial burglar from Baltimore who targeted the Columbia area late this spring has been arrested, authorities say. Dawon Martice Davis, 20, is allegedly connected to seven commercial burglaries that took place from May 12 to June 17, 2022, according to Howard County Police. Davis reportedly entered the businesses in the overnight hours, stealing various items.
