A Maryland State Police trooper was injured by a drunk driver after being struck in Montgomery County, officials say. The Thanksgiving holiday got into an inauspicious start for 21-year-old Collin Rono, who is facing a DUI charge after driving into the back of a state police cruiser while troopers were working to direct traffic amid flooding in North Bethesda on Tuesday night. Maryland State Police investigators have released new details about the fatal I-95 crash that killed a 31-year-old truck driver on Thursday afternoon. Suitland resident Osama Abdelfattah Marey has been identified as the person who was killed when a driver from Laurel sideswiped several vehicles, setting off a chain-reaction crash.
